Social Worker Day
June 8 is the Social Worker Day in Russia. This holiday was originally established by Peter the Great and re-established in 2000. Among the Russian staff that Orphan's Tree supports are seven social workers. They visit orphans and young families at home and lead individual and group sessions for orphans in Ministry Centers and technical schools. Today is a great opportunity to thank them for the role they play in the kids' lives and to wish them keep their hearts open to the needs of the orphans.
