Russian mentors for orphans

A few days ago the Russian president Medvedev visited Kostroma where during his meeting with representatives of parliamentary parties he discussed the problem of older orphans becoming easy prey for criminals. According to his words a great number of children in Russia continue to grow up in orphanages and even though the government does its best to provide them with housing after they leave their institutions, many of them loose their houses and apartments to swindlers. President said it would be very helpful if each orphan had a mentor and challenged the local communities to come up with constructive solutions. (source: www.rian.ru).
