Dima, Sveta and sons Andre and Kostya
Sveta lived in the Mstyora orphanage until she was 15 years old. In May 2005 she had her 1st son Andre. At that time she was in a very difficult life situation and was included in the Young Mothers’ Program (a program of Children’s HopeChest). Sveta was provided with material, medical, psychological and social support.
Later Sveta met a young man Dima and they started dating and then living together in Vladimir. At that time Sveta owned a room in a dormitory. Dima worked in an auto service company in Moscow and provided for their family. In September 2008 their son Kostya was born.
In spring 2009 due to difficult economic situation in the country Dima lost his job and couldn’t find any other job for quite a long time. The family was included into the Young Families program; they got financial support and psychological counseling, and assistance in getting medicines because the kids and Sveta herself had some health problems.
In July 2009 Sveta and Dima got officially married and Dima adopted Sveta’s older son Andrey. With the help of Young Families program manager and counselor Sveta put together all necessary documents and applied to the city services for a better living place. In October 2009 she got a separate two-room apartment in the suburb of Vladimir called ‘Lesnoi’ where they live now. Last fall Dima got a good job and now the family lives happily. Sveta with kids came to the Christmas party in Vladimir Center of Assistance and told the staff that they all are doing well.
We are very happy for them.
