Introduce yourself to some of ‘our families:’
Christmas Update (January 7, 2011)
In January the parents of the Kostroma region along with the kids attended the New Year performance “The Governor’s New Year Tree”. The kids and the adults were delighted with the performance. All the families received a special gift for the New Year/Christmas holidays, and also the gifts for the kids (toys and children’s books).
“Hello our nice friends! This letter is being written to you by the young families from Kostroma. First of all we would like to tell you THANK YOU for giving us an opportunity to celebrate New Year and Christmas. Each family was able to have a good festive table with differents treats. But for your help most of the families would not have been able to feel these holidays. But the greatest joy you gave to our little kids. Thank you very much for that. You helped to make them have fun and be the happiest kids. Now they have good brain-developing books with bright pictures, the boys got big cars and the girls got dolls that walk and sing. For the parents it’s another gift to see the kids smiling. And also all the families attended the Governor’s New Year celebration, saw a performance with fairy-tale characters, sang and danced in a ring, played merry games, sang songs and simply had fun. Thank you very much and we’re looking forward to seeing you here”.

Vladimir News…
On December 26, the young families went to a New Year’s program at the local Youth Creativity Center. Tickets were purchased for this event, again, thanks to you. The children and parents watched a holiday presentation and short concert, and then the children gathered around the New Year’s tree to sing and dance together. Each child received a gift of sweets. The parents were so pleased that their children were able to participate in such an event, and it was a good opportunity for them to become acquainted with the programs of the Youth Creativity Center since they have various clubs and extracurricular activities in which the children can participate in the future.
On December 29, thanks to your support, a holiday program was provided at our center for the families. Contests and games were prepared for the children by the regular attendees of our center, there was a visit from Father Frost, poems and songs were performed, and each child received a toy. After all this, parents and children along with the staff had time together for tea and baked pies. The atmosphere was so warm and cozy that no one wanted to leave.
This year each family received an individual gift as well as a set of full-sized sheets and a small amount of money for groceries for the holiday meal.
All the program participants were so excited and haven’t stopped expressing their gratitude for your attention and care! Your love means so much to each of them. Thank you very much!
