18 families participated in the program: 7 in Vladimir, 7 in Ivanovo, 4 in Kostroma. They participated in trainings and received individual and group counseling, helped with medical assistance for their young children (paid for medications and exams) and with social assistance to parents (filing documents for housing). The seminars included the topics such as Family Relationship, Role of Family and Child Upbringing, Methods of Discipline, Family Budget: Credit and Debts, How to Prevent Pregnancy, Women’s Health and Developmental Games for Children. A Family Day Out activity was planned and enjoyed each month. Activities included dinner in a children’s café, a visit to a circus,

Katya P.: “In April we visited the circus with the kids. It was a wonderful show! My family can’t afford to pay for family recreation activities and I’m thankful to Nadezhda Fund my family for this opportunity to have some special time together with my family and other families. We come to the NF Center often and take part in all the trainings. We got a lot of knowledge there. Thank you very much!”
Beginning the 1st of February Nadya P. and Ruslan P. stopped being the participants of the young families program. During their time in the program the young family acquired adequate life skills, were able to define the idea of “healthy marital relationship”, learned to resolve conflicts wisely, acquired parenting skills to be responsible for their children’s life, recevied knowledge about about their rights and duties and were introduced to institutions which defend their rights. Nadya and Ruslan found jobs; their elder daughter goes to a kindergarten.
Nadya P. and Ruslan P.: “Thank you for this opportunity to participate in such a wonderful program like this. We learnt a lot from the fund staff. We always find support and understanding here. We feel love, care, interest for our lives and problems here. Though we are not participants any more we’ll be coming to the center and participate in other activities.
