  • Leadership Update

We are happy to see the increasing number of socially active youth. Our participant leaders continue to lead several service projects helping local socially disadvantaged groups each month. The staff provided the necessary help and support but overall these events were fully initiated and organized by our young people. The projects often included a trainings in orphanages.

Leadership team in Kostroma made a visit to the Galich family Center in January. The group consisted of 5 graduates. The trip was preceded by a thorough preparation. The topics of the visit were “How to find one’s place in life and become successful” and “Fighting bad habits”. It was the first meeting with the kids of a Family Center. Following the visit the leaders decided to have reach out to the other family centers in Kostroma.

Natasha B. “It’s very interesting and important being a part of the leadership team. I met many orphanage kids. My task is to try to help them find a better place in life. Participation in such a program makes me ponder over my place in life”.

In April we decided to see how enthusiastic the participants of our programs would be about volunteer activities. The results surpassed our expectations and made us feel proud of what the participants suggested. Their plan was to find and help veterans whether a war or a labor veteran. We think it’s remarkable that orphans are so quick to help others.
