    Christmas 2011

    Vladimir Ministry Center Celebration

On December 27, 2011 orphanage graduates of all ages from all over Vladimir region came together as one big family to celebrate these holidays.

A 40 minute holiday performance was prepared and presented by Tech School 9 staff.   The entertainment program sparkled with jokes and laughter, it included fun games and contests in which all the young people actively participated and received prizes and souvenirs.

Without a doubt, an abundance of good food is an excellent trait of Christmas & New Year’s celebrations in any country, especially in hospitable Russia.  Our holiday meal confirmed it.  Participants from our Cooking Club prepared a two traditional New Year’s salads – Olivye (potato salad) and Crab Meat Salad. On the tables there were also sandwiches with sausage and cheese, éclairs and, of course, soft drinks.

What Christmas is without gifts?! Thanks to our wonderful sponsors, all grads, who were present at the celebration, received wonderful gifts:

    • a frying pan and a towel – from our friends in “Orphan’s Tree” charity organization
    • sweets – from our friends in “ExxonMobil Russia Inc.” corporation
    • sweets & gifts for children of “Young Mothers” and “Young Family” programs participants
    • fruits (a banana, an apple and two tangerines) – from our friends in JSC “SMU 23”, Vladimir.

All the older orphans were pleased and touched that the gifts turned out to be so nice, including items that were useful along with some treats.

“This year we came to Christmas party in Nadezhda fund for the 1st time. We liked it here a lot, the program was a lot of fun, Father Frost was joking a lot. There were very many people, over a hundred and there were not enough places for everyone to sit but still the atmosphere was festive and special, we were happy to see some old friends – grads from our Kameshkovo orphanage. Thank you for the gifts!” Katya V. and Valya L. (Tech 23, Suzdal)

“Big thanks to all Nadezhda Fund staff for the Christmas celebration. Father Frost visited our Center of Assistance, he had fun contests and gifts for us. There were a lot of grads, it seems that even more than last year! We hardly fit into the hall, some guys were even standing in the kitchen area. Despite it, there was a lot of fun. We ate tasty treats, especially we enjoyed the salads – thanks to everyone who had cooked them. Of course, the gifts were super as always! Both frying pans and towels will be very useful. Thank you very much!” (Anya Ye., Anya M., Zhenya G., Raya L., Galya Sh., “Independent Living” program participants)

“We usually come to the cooking activity and were asked to come earlier to help with salads for Christmas dinner. Surely we were glad to help. Never in our life we have cut so many eggs and potatoes, and never we have opened so many cans with preserved peas and corn. We made 4 huge bowls with salads, also we made sandwiches with sausage and cheese. We were glad that all grads liked our salads and almost everyone asked for a second. Thank you, all sponsors and Nadezhda fund staff, for such unforgettable Christmas celebration and for great gifts” Sasha R., Anya M., Tolik T., Sergei K., Dennis R., Sasha P., Nastya K. (different tech schools and colleges of Vladimir)

Your prayers on a regular basis for our many activities are welcome and appreciated.
