Children without the guidance and protection of their primary caregivers are often more vulnerable and at risk of becoming victims of violence, exploitation, trafficking, discrimination or other abuses. Russian orphans ‘age out’ of orphanages between 14and 16 years old. Separation from parents and family is usually detrimental for the overall well being and development of the child.
The mission of Orphan Outreach is “Improving the lives of orphans and at-risk children in Guatemala, Honduras, Russia and India through early intervention, education and evangelism.”
Orphan’s Tree is partnering with Orphan Outreach in St Petersburg to offer a refuge to older orphans – a place where they receive encouragement, advice, life-skills, friendship and spiritual growth.
